On the topic of why i am so superficial...

Everyone likes to be seen in the company of Hot People. regardless whether they be male or female. I understand I just made a sweeping statement. Yet if you introspected, you will find yourself in the trappings mentioned at one point or another. There is a certain fondness for fellow beings who appear pleasant, attractive or well-heeled. Now, it is obvious only 0.00026 of the population actually have the genes of Gisele (of which, two-thirds probably had help from Plastic & refuse to admit) so technically, there isn't many to pass around. In this land of scarcity, beauty is even more highly regarded. How sad you must think, that we judge or are judged based on appearance. Whatever happened to personality, character, morals etc.?? No. Those are important factors. But the predisposition to looks will always be there. Oh duh. But wait, there's more...

The behaviour and attitude of a person can make or break his/her looks. The truth is facial features only carry one thus far. But that swagger, the dressing, the nonchalence at which you greet... all add to the the package. Apparently Men smoke because it is a display of endangering their lives, therefore a way to impress Women. It works on the same mentality as other species like how the peacock spreads its tail to attract peahens even while knowing it could attract predators too. Fatal attraction as they call it has been in our system since we were chimps I'd bet. With the change in status, more women now smoke too (yes possibly as a leverage in the high-stakes coupling game, but with not quite similar repurcussions hmm).

Somehow though, Hot people rarely make good company. They're usually too caught up with themselves & assume they're always being checked out (I hate them! Oh no, I take that back, gimme Hot anytime... yummy). Right. The truth is we'll never give up clamouring and glamorising the good-lookers. And now with increasing acceptance (even encouragement) of cosmetic surgery, the loser-in-the-streets can be the Next Sexy Thing. *ting!*So maybe if everyone starts to look Hot & it becomes the norm (probably in approx. 15 yrs time when skin grafts are as good as skin gifts), then Fugly may be the new Hot! What rubbish.

This isn't working out. I think I need more compelling souls in my life.
