Arriving past the quarter mark of the new year, I found myself stunned at the speed at which time passed. Not alone in my discovery, friends and colleagues expressed sentiments alike.

This evening I noticed the magnetic whiteboard that is plastered to my bar fridge. This miniature sized notice was meant to serve as a way for me to jot down important things to do, lest my memory fails me. Interestingly, it held the words I wrote on the last day of 2012... a reminder of the person I hoped to grow into over the next 365 days. They read:

1. Spend more time with family
2. Pray more to God
3. Treat loved ones with respect
4. Spend less time on Facebook
5. Walk doggies more
6. Take charge of career

I'd like to think I took some proactive steps to hit the list but to varying degrees of success. And with such resolutions they are always a work-in-progress. I wanted to retain the points somewhere more permanent so that I could look back on this months down and evaluate how well I've done.

Perhaps I might follow-up with an entry on my current take of each item...

More importantly I can now erase my whiteboard and begin to use it for daily chores, which I expect will be goals that are much easier to achieve.
