Summer Vacation 2005
The trip was indeed a wonderful experience & i'm so grateful to have gotten the chance to see so many different cities. So here are my albums of snaps taken throughout the month... just click on the inset pics to enter that album.

Travelled to Toronto, Ontario 24th June '05 aboard Cathay Pacific. Sat till my butt ached & sleep was sparse.
Stayed at my aunt's place & basically went sight-seeing on our own. The public transport is pretty efficient considering everyone else drives their own car.
They have 5 mths of winter but since it is Summer, the sun sets around 9.30pm. The pizza guy drives a honda civic for delivery.

Pride Toronto is a week of celebrations culminating in the Pride Parade on Sunday. Fortunately, my aunts were game enough to bring us down. Afterall, it's not everyday that we see queerdom at its best.
Not everyone marching is gay. Many are actually family & friends showing their support.
Two weeks after Pride, Canada finalised the legalisation of gay marriage, granting equal legal rights to both spouse just as in heterosexual unions. They also have shows like "My Fabulous Gay Wedding" on network TV.

29th June: Booked a guided tour to the state of Quebec where people identify passionately as French (even though the people of France refuses to acknowledge that.)
Quebec is cleaner than Toronto & has a far smaller population of Asian immigrants. You have to be able to know French before being able to start a living there.

Flew to New York 6th July on a domestic flight. Homeland Security, which is now in-charge of US immigration was a Bitch! Most Muslims would check-in 4-5 hrs before boarding.
This is the view from our hotel room. It was great cos we were at 42nd, near Times Square. Buildings are so close, we could see workers in their posh offices right across each morning.
You can tell a native New Yorker from the rest of the American tourists thronging the city. They dress better, walk tall & fast, & look way hotter.

16th July: Took the train to Oakville & got driven to Niagara Falls by a family friend. The cool & wet climate resulting from the Falls make the region perfect for growing fruits, thus it's been dubbed "the land of milk & honey".
The Falls are shared with the US border but 90% falls into the Canadian side. The shot actually shows the American Falls, one of the three falls.
They have one of the best producers of ice wine, a sweet dessert wine nicknamed "nectar of the Gods". It's really really very good.
Well that's it. My brother & I actually took more than 500 shots but who's gonna bother looking through all that?! For all the fun I had, nothing beats the feeling of home. Even for cynical me, i do appreciate S'pore for all it's good.

NYC
hi! i cant reply comments becos this com is so fucked up but im reading them all... & missin ya'll.
new york city was Fabulous! i love it love it love it. & then i got sick of all the bustle & giant bodies after 4 days so it was just about time to leave. it's seriously the city that never sleeps & just about every strange person is in that town. again no pictures, but i'll come back & do a whole new entry.
I saw BIG!!! Mr Big!!! from sex & the city! IN THE CITY! I'm gonna hit myself everytime i ask this but "why didn't u run after him?!". Well cos I'M AN IDIOT! Argh. he ran off at a corner so fast with some girls chasing him that i realised it was him AFTER he'd ran a mile off. Still, i must proclaim the man is way skinnier & more youthful than the character he played... shit shit shit!
Other than that, NYC is every other cliche it has come to be synonymous with on the small and large screen i will tell you. oh oh oh, i watched Hairspray on Broadway which was perhaps one of the most amazing productions i've seen in my little life. they have truly the best actors of North America!
So, i'm back in Toronto and Niagara Falls is next. Actually i cant wait to return to Singapore. I have no friends here and am already bored (cos my aunts r such restrictive anal-retentive twits).
Till the next time!
PS: Gay Pride was one of the highlights of Toronto & included lotsa NUDE men & women. The TV program here is also unbeatable with 89 prime channels. Other than that, Toronto is really a snooze.ZZZ.

Greetings From Toronto
i wanted to post so much, include photos and stuff, but my aunts' computers are a lil backdated and the internet connection is terrible. i can't even go online to msn! sobs.
Anyhow, the trip's been a blast! One week here and i'm really lovin it! Oh mannn, there are so many different types of people in this city - whites, blacks, latinos, and a MASSIVE asian population (i so do not feel special...)!! the weather is pretty good like S'pore but with 28478460958928943 miles/s windchills. i have to say the angmohs here are divided into the OBSCENELY OBESED and the HOT HOT HOT segments. but more of the former than the latter.
I attended

RADE!!! omg! the Gays are really ripped while the lesbians are erm... mostly fat and ugly. But still, the amount of support the people give these GLBTs is really awesome... oh and i think the drag queens were the best - all diva and men sock's breasts. i've got lotsa free condoms and lubricants to give out when i come back (if you're into that sorta stuff)! i wish i cld post pics but this com sucks. nvm.
Aiight, off to New York soon. btw, I bought stuff for everyone! Later then!
